Creating a Tracker

After you have created a project the Project Administration homepage will look quite bare.  You have to create a tracker, disciplines and invite project members into the project in order to populate the Project Administration page.

Note: If you are an employee of a company that is registered with the website for bulk-billing then please ensure that you are registered as a company-member BEFORE trying to create a tracker.  If your user-account is not linked to the company profile before creating a tracker then you will be blocked by a page requesting payment.

To create a tracker simply follow these steps:

  1. Click the "+" sign next to the "Trackers" heading on your Project Administration page.
  2. Enter the title of the tracker.  Note that generally it is best to make the title of the tracker the same name as the rating-tool or system that you are using.  So if you are using "Green Star Design v3" then the title of the tracker will be "Green Star Design v3".
  3. Optionally select a template from which to create this tracker.  If your company has created some tracker templates then these will appear at the top of the list under "YOUR COMPANY TEMPLATES".  Publicly available default templates appear at the bottom of the drop-down list under the heading "PUBLIC TEMPLATES".
  4. Generally leave the "Make this tracker a template" box unchecked unless you are creating a template for your company (see point 3 above).
  5. Click the "Submit" button and you will return to the Project Administration page and see your new tracker under the "Trackers" heading.

If you are a member of company profile then you can click on the tracker heading and you should be taken straight through to the tracker.  If you are not registered with a company then you will be blocked by a page that gives you options for either direct-payment or for company-registration.

The first time you click on the tracker heading the tracker will be created from the template and the various project disciplines will be created.  If you return to the Project Administration page then you will find the "Disciplines" list is populated with the relevant disciplines for that tracker.
